My Story...How I battled Anxiety, Depression, and Panic Disorder

So this is going to be my story, and I sincerely hope it helps some of yall who may be struggling also.

I"m 26 now, but lets fast forward...
For those of you who don't know, I was born premature at barely 26 weeks.  My mother had preeclampsia, in which she gained 90 pounds of water and couldn't carry me full term. Luckily, we both lived. I was only on oxygen a few hours and was able to breathe on my own.  I only weighed 1 pound 4 oz and had a heart murmur, It closed when I was 4 and was brought home 3 months after I was born.  I had a heart monitor and it would go off and scare my parents to death.  When I was an infant, I would shake and my Granny(my father's mother who is now passed) would say "that's that baby's nerves". My mom wrote her off saying I was just cold.  Little did we know I would go through a whirldwind of bad nerves later in life.  I developed pretty normally except for being late on things.  Crawling, walking, cutting teeth, talking, potty training etc.

Fast forward a few years to around 4th grade.  I was a smart kid and always had initiative to learn.  My mom would read to me and teach me my basic afraid that I may have a learning disability. I was smaller than my peers even though I started school a year late. But my body was maturing way faster than everyone else's.  I was in full blown puberty by age 9. My breasts were much larger than my friends which caused my to get picked on endlessly and I couldn't understand why.  At that age you're not at all comfortable with your body and the changes it's going through. By 5TH grade, I was a C cup and had started my period.  I felt so ashamed and that fact that everyone picked on me saying I stuffed my bra didn't make it any better.

By 6th grade I had moved schools because it was closer to my dad's job.  My first year there I didn't get picked on much, but by middle school, which is 7th, and 8th grade for me through high school girls and some boys were so mean to me.  I felt different and no matter what I wore, or did, even if it were the same things my friends were doing, they still gave me pure hell.  In 7th grade I got my first boyfriend and the first guy I ever kissed.  We broke up 4 months later.

One evening, I was sitting at the dinner table and the last thing I remember was taking a bite of steak.  The next thing I remember was waking up in an ambulance and saying I was fine.  I had had a seizure and my dad had to get the piece of steak out of my mouth so I didn't choke. I had trouble remember things for about 3 months after that and was very sore for about a week after.

The doctors did test after test and concluded that it was my nerves that made me have the seizure.  I haven't had one sense.

By my Freshman year of high school, I found I could use my overly developed body to get the attention/acceptance I longed for from boys, since I wasn't getting it from females.  I had had a couple innocent little boyfriends before my Freshman year, but Freshman year was when shit got real.

I feel alot of pressure from girls because they were already having sex and I hadn't went beyond kissing.  I got a boyfriend my Freshman year who was a Senior and we messed around but we didnt have sex.  He was the first person I had given a part of myself to which in turn, made my self -esteem go down the toliet.

My junior year, I had met an older boy who I wanted so badly to be in a relationship with.  I was a virgin at this time still and I felt I wanted to lose my virginity to this man. He did not however want me to lose my innocence.  So, I went on a date with a boy from my school and I lost my virginity to him without any feelings whatsoever and it completely broke me.  I felt he had taken advantage of me because he knew I was a virgin.  For years this hurt me to the core and I believed for a long time I was raped emotionally.

I ended up quitting high school 2 weeks into my senior year because I couldn't handle the stress of boys being in my school who had hurt me or this guy I had dated for 4 months my junior year of high school that ended badly that ended up in one of classes.  I looked back at those days of my life in the mind set I am now and want to smack myself.  I had trouble with rejection then and didn't know how to cope.
The first time I was admitted to a psychiatric hospital was when I was 19.  And would have 4 stays total. They were many times I wanted to be dead than in the world even though I had a loving mother and father but not getting acceptance from female friends or boyfriends took a tole on my mind. I thought happiness was having a man who loved you and wanted to marry you.  Since my mother and father met when they were 13 and are still together, I longed for that love story.

When I 20, I had started dating a guy who works with my father. We were serious and we almost got engaged.  However, he was very controlling. His mother had met a man online when he was 18 and fled.  He thought that if I was on the computer, I would do the same and was very jealous.  I smoke cigarettes, and he didn't like it.  I was always extremely close with my Granny, and had quit smoking, but family members called and said their was nothing they could do for her and my Dad told me to get me a cigarette to calm down. At that time, the guy walked in and was pissed because I had a cigarette and left.  We tried getting back together about a month later but things didn't work out.

In my mind at that time, their was no other way but him. I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with this man and thought that if I couldn't have him, I didn't deserve anything else.I thought he was treating me the way he did because he loved me, not because he had control issues. I didn't know any different. Once again, my self esteem was down the toliet.

Since he works with my Dad, and my Dad's work is right beside their house, I would see him in passing.  Once night, his truck was in the joint driveway and that sent me into a panic.  I thought I was having a heart attack but I went to the ER and it was panic attack.  Later, my psychiatrist diagnosed me with panic disorder.

Now years later, I am happily married to a man that loves me and showed me what true love really is. Trust, loving someone no matter what, seeing things in you you may not see yourself.  Even though at first I was that easy to love.  I was on the wrong medication and it made me depressed rather than helping and I would throw myself pity parties.  Until I saw how other people have it hard, and have way less than I do, and just gaining life experience, the right medication, and Jesus Christ, was I finally able to realize that I am worth love and being happy.  I finally love my life and myself.  Even though I have gained weight since I had what I would consider to be a "perfect body" at 17, I love myself more now and more and more every day.  So just remember that you are worthy of happiness and love and self worth. It will get better.  If you are struggling with anything I recommend seeing your doctor and getting refered to a psychiatrist or counselor so you can work things out and get on the right medication if you need it.

My get ready with me video is now live!

Hey y'all. I hope you all are having a great Monday! I just uploaded my Get Ready With Me concert edition on my Youtube Channel. Make sure you go check it out.

Also, back in the first few days of June, my vacuum bit the dust. Well actually, you cant find bags for it anymore so I finally got a new one Friday. It is a Bissel Powerforce Compact Bagless Vacuum and at only 35.00 at Walmart, it was a bargain. I read reviews on it on Wal-mart.com before buying it and I am insanely happy with it. It's small, lightweight, easy to empty and clean, (Thanks Michelle for showing me how), and it's powerful. It got down cobwebs I didn't even know I had. So if you're in the market for a new or cheap but sufficient vacuum, I highly recommend this one.

Jesse McCartney Concert!

So as you all know, I went to the Jesse McCartney concert Tuesday. It was awesome and quite an adventure. They were doing road work about 5 miles before downtown Louisville and it took us 45 minutes to drive 5 miles. Then it took us another 45 minutes to find the place. Once i heard screams and saw the tour bus I knew we had the venue.  We got there around 5:30, and didn't get inside til 7:30. Their was a meet and greet before that select people  got to go to. A couple girls and even a mother came out making the awefulest wailing sound I ever heard. It wasnt even a scream. It was almost like someone was dying! and scantily clad girls.  Did they think he was going to come off the stage and have his way with them? uh no. One girl even tossed her pink bra on stage and he tossed it back.  It was a lot of waiting. We ended up getting second row and it was worth it! I know one thing. After seeing the girls outside barricading the tour bus door waiting for him to get back on after the show, I would NOT, by any means want to be famous.  After all, famous people are only human, they just have a different job than others.

Here are some pictures of Jesse in all his gorgeous glory.

Get Ready with me concert edition will be up shortly plus video footage of the concert!

Why am I still awake?

So it's 9:31 am and I'm still awake.  I feel asleep early last night and woke up around 11:30pm and have been up since.  Thing's are getting better for us financially. We are getting our internet and cable back Monday. (I'm posting this from my living room, with my computer in a window since it picks up random wifi) In some ways I'm thankful for not relying solely on internet and television for entertainment.  I know I read 6 books the month of April and that was a record for me.  But oh how I've missed tv.  I feel like I have a shit-ton of shows to catch up on.  I know this post is really random, but hey, I'm sleep deprived.  Im so excited to start posting here regularly and to make videos again.  I have a thrift haul coming soon that will be my most epic haul so far.   I also plan on putting a few outfits together and letting you all pick which one I should wear to the Jesse McCartney concert on the 29th.

My love for music

I'm sure some people look at me a little sideways when I tell people or my viewers that I'm a die-hard Jesse McCartney fan.  More like fan girl. Anytime a new song comes out or he's on tv, I'm taken back to being a squealing 13 year old girl. Some people may think this is immature but music has always played an important role in my life.

My momma tells me I was dancing before I could walk. She said I would pull up to the tv stand, and bounce when music was on. At the time, being from the South, I loved country music. As I got older, I wanted my MTV, not CMT.

I grew up listening to boy bands. Hanson (whom I thought were girls because magazines were still in black and white back then if you can believe that!) Then Backstreet Boys, NSync, and the like. When I was 10 I found out Nick of Backstreet Boys, had a younger brother. I soon found his cd and listened to it. My husband actually went to high school with Kevin.

Then when I was around 12-13ish, I saw an ad for a boy band called Dreamstreet who were close to my age and I could relate to them more.   I remember a neighbor of mine got turned on to them too, and we would listen to their music, visit fan websites, and read fan fictions about this boy band.  Eventually, the band broke up due to legal issues and went on their separate ways.

Most of the guys in the group didn't really go far in their careers except for Jesse.  I was searching one night about a year or so after the group broke up and saw he was starting a solo career so him being my favorite member of the band, I started visiting his website.

When I was 15, I found out he was touring in Louisville the day after I had a follow-up appointment in Lexington, and off to Louisville we went. I got there not expecting much, but I ended up getting to meet him, and got front row center seats.  I was in teenage girl Heaven! And the weird thing was, he was so normal.  He had on regular clothes, my dad said Jesse's legs were whiter than his, and he had on underwear from k-mart.

This picture below was taken August 2. 2003
So at this time he was just starting out after I met him, you can say I was hooked.  Their was a forum on his website I stayed on constantly and I made many friends on there during the long years I was a member. Some of whom I still talk to today. Being in that forum also heighted my love for technology. People would have pictures in their posts which were refered to as "signatures", which in turn, made me take internet in graphic design, and then Web design.

In 2005, I saw him again in concert in Cincinatti, and it was crazy to me how famous he had become. Yet over the years I've been a fan, he has remained out of the media, unlike most celebrities who have some scandel posting on gossip websites and magazines once a week.  He also wears normal, every day clothes and those are things that make me respect him even more.

I could always listen to his music no matter what mood I was in.  Sad, happy, angry, whatever.  Especially since I struggled with bullying, and anxiety and depression when I was younger. It just made me feel better no matter what emotion I was feeling at the time. I guess you can say its kind of a "safety net" for me.  The one thing other than my awesome parents of course, and now, husband, that was a constant was Jesse.  Whether it be his music, a tv show, or whatever. It was always there when I went through a bad break-up, if I was in a good mood, whatever. Of course his music isn't the only music I listen to, I enjoy country, hip hop, pop.  And many various artists. And my love for dancing is still there. I love the free feeling you get dancing even though I'm extremely tone-deaf.

Now after being a "fan girl" 13 years and 9 years after the last time I saw him in concert, I'm seeing him again for the 3rd time, thanks to my amazing husband for getting me the tickets as an anniversary present.  July 29th can't come soon enough and I absolutely can't wait!

Thrifty Thursday How to get soft lips.

Hey y'all. This is going to be my first Thrifty Thursday post. For today I am coming to you with a cheap but yet delicious Chapstick.
This is the limited edition Cake Batter Chapstick. Just like any other but it tastes amazing! For super soft lips I recommend you use a toothbrush(when you brush your teeth) to lightly buffer your lips of dead skin. Then use this. I got it at walmart and plan on stocking up since they're limited edition. Definitely my new favorite. And it's only 1.00.

Where the hell have I been?

I just wanted to let everyone know who watches my YouTube channel, to know I haven't been able to upload a video since March. The reason for that being some low life stole my husbands entire wallet the day we paid our cable and internet bill. So needless to say it's been rough. Losing his cash, his Id, everything had to be replaced. Now we owe a big bill because some dumbass decided to steal his wallet while he was checking out at the store. I am posting this with my phone so their isn't any confusion and hopefully we can get everything turned back on soon. (Thank god I love to read and had a plethora of DVDs). So other than that I'm great. I got my hair cut at the beginning of May and I donated a total of14 inches. I love it and have gotten so many compliments. It helped my self confidence 100%.

I had a yard sale the beginning of June and made only 9 bucks. Because of where my parents live it was a hard place for people to find so were planning on going to a more high traffic area soon. I did manage to find some great things thrifting and plan to either post them here and for sure do a haul as soon as I get my wifi back. I also redid my office/beauty room/filming studio and it came out nicely.
Yes the shoes are turned wrong, I corrected this. Redo was 12.50 total.
I also redid my living room for only 28 bucks.
We have also been drag racing a lot and this past weekend my husband won no box at Russel Spings and Sunday was our 1 year anniversary.

I'll talk to you tomorrow guys!
Oh and before I forget, my dear friend from middle and high school has an awesome blog you should read. She does weight loss videos, tutorials, recipes, reviews, and the like. She's hilarious too. Check her out. Http://butterybiscuit7.blogspot.com

New Year New Stuff

It's a new year and I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you more about me.  I'm Brittany.  I'm 25 years old.  I'll be 26 on the 21st of this month. I am a stay-at-home wife and dog momma.  I adore thrifting, as you all know from my previous post. I loved shoes, fashion, and purses etc, from an early age. I would be in a store with my Mom and tell people I liked their shoes as a toddler. I also enjoy reading and have since an early age. Since I was a preemie, my mother thought I may have a learning disability so she started reading to me and teaching me how to read before I had even started Kindergarten. I also love technology and dogs which I got from my Daddy. I taught myself html and graphic design when I was 15. I am happily married and have been with my husband for almost 3 years. We have been married since June of 2013 and it was absolutely the happiest day of my life.We have a dog, Chevelle, whom is just like a child to us and is spoiled rotten. My husband is a drag and go-kart racer and that is where we spend most of our weekends. I haven't been posting a lot of video recently on my YouTube channel because back in January I had to reformat my computer and couldn't figure out a proper set up for my camera until the other day when my dear husband decided to rig up my tripod with zip ties since my camera doesn't have a place to screw it on a tripod.  So no worries.  Their will be tons of videos to come.
